#1. Your well was constructed without a gravel pack or the gravel size doesn't match your aquifer soil type. Gravel packs shall be constructed with proper gravel size.
#2. Your well was recently constructed and wasn't fully developed. Well development can increase water quality and quantity.
#3. The casing perforation slots or well screen size doesn't match the sand grain size. During drilling, soil samples should be collected, and the well shall be designed accordingly.
#4. Too strong of a pump will create excess vacuum suction and pull in sand from the aquifer. This can happen especially if the well recharge rate is slow. Pumps shall be installed according to well capacity.
#5. Your perforated casing or the screen has rusted through and the soil is seeping in. The well can collapse if the rust weakens the structure of the casing.
